Brandi (Nov 4, 1988- April 8, 2023)

Her sister told me she passed away on Saturday from cancer. I feel utterly devastated.

She used to be on Tumblr for years. She was very active in the Lady Gaga, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Joker, and Ghost fandoms. She used to go by forbiddenfascist, lasquadrahoe, and jokerho3 on here.

She was a beautiful, firey, incandescent soul that never shied from telling you exactly what she thought. She fought for justice constantly. She was actually threatened several times online for her firm stance on equality for LGBTQIA+ and leftist causes. She was a friend to animals and fostered dozens of kittens and puppies, finding them forever homes and loving families. For years she worked to support her mother and sisters while juggling life and school work. Her perseverance paid off and she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology and Immunology. Science was a passion of hers. She frequently set out to correct misinformation and help foster scientific literacy.

We might not have spoken in three years and I will always regret our last conversations, but I am shattered by her loss. She was the only woman I ever really loved or tried to love. I met her in 6th grade and we shared everything everyday until our early 30s. We lived together for 5 years.

Brandi, The truth is I have missed you every single minute of every single day since we last spoke and the fact that I will never see you or hear your voice again is destroying my spirit. I am so sorry that I could not make everything better for you. I am so sorry that we stopped talking. I am so sorry that I couldn’t work everything out with you. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life.

I suspect and hope that you found great happiness in the last 3 years. This is my only consolation for my part in your unhappiness over the years.
